Lincoln Cents w/ strange face carvings...?

1 Attachment(s)
Sorting through a box of pennies to pick out the coppers, I came across two cents, both 1972-D, which have a face carved into it, facing Lincoln. Has anyone seen anything like this before, or does anyone know anything about them? Very strange to say the least.

http://thefuntimesguide.com/images/b..._top-thumb.jpg Rosie wrote us and said she found a penny that has an imprint of Kennedy facing Lincoln on it and wanted to know how much it's worth.
While I'm certainly no expert on coin values, and I'd highly recommend you consult with a legit numismatist first... we're fairly confident that it's worth very little, except for it's historic and commemorative value, of course. That is, unless you find the "right person" who saves collector's items like these.

<!-- END GOOGLE ENTRY --> How Common Are The Lincoln-Kennedy Pennies?
My mom used to work at a bank.
She brought home a few of these commemorative Lincoln-Kennedy Pennies that were affixed to cards which listed some "astonishing coincidences" between the lives (and deaths) of President Abraham Lincoln and President John F. Kennedy.
Pictured here is the one I've managed to save for the past 15-20 years.

Similarities & Coincidences Between Kennedy And Lincoln:

To some, all these "supposed" similarities simply have gone too far...

I got one of those in change in the late 70's. I was just a kid then but I remember it being pretty cool.

Took it to my dad who collects coins. He assured me that it was only worth a penney, and it was part of some program that I've long since forgotten the details of. My impression of it now is thats its something along the lines of the Obama coins we have today. i.e. a gimmick.

I have no idea what ever happened to it. But it was cool.

They are worth at least 1000 dollars (Zimbabwe that is)!
